Global Health
Drugs for Neglected Diseases (DNDi)
Context
DNDi, an international non-profit organization active in pharmaceutical research and development, based in Geneva with more than 200 employees globally and a large network of partners, aims to reduce its environmental impact of its operations and products, as defined in its Climate and Environmental Roadmap.
Challenge
As DNDi advances along its Climate and Environmental Roadmap, it identified a need to further engage its employees across its global offices. In particular, the organization wanted to better communicate the imperative for change and to translate overarching vision into actionable, tangible steps accessible to all, regardless of location or role.
Outcome
The project resulted in the creation of three comprehensive online modules addressing the fundamental dimensions of the planetary crisis, its implications for the healthcare sector, and actionable measures available to DNDi employees. The impact of the campaign on the employee behavior and DNDi's overall sustainability performance will be measured through a dedicated impact assessment framework.
Food and Beverage
Access to Nutrition Initiative (ATNi)
Context
ATNi aims to transform markets to deliver healthy, sustainable diets for all, including through mobilizing companies, investors and policymakers towards actions for healthier food systems.
Challenge
Although sustainability frameworks are increasingly recognizing healthy diets as critical to the Food and Beverage sector, and new evidence regarding its financial materiality continues to emerge, nutrition is not yet fully integrated into sustainability conversations.
Outcome
Following analysis of key developments in sustainability frameworks in relation to nutrition-related disclosures (incl. EFRAG, GRI and IFRS/SASB), the project resulted in a development of a multi-year program to engage diverse stakeholder groups incl. global and national standard setters (see example), investors, industry, civil community around the evolving role of nutrition within sustainability frameworks.
Sustainable Finance
Building Bridges Action Days
Context
Building Bridges brings together a community of decision-makers and experts from finance, corporate sectors, government, civil society, academia, and sustainable development communities to mobilize financial flows for key sustainability challenges.
Opportunity
Recognizing nutrition as an increasingly critical sustainability issue for investors, the Building Bridges event provided a distinctive platform to convene cross-sector stakeholders and examine the investment rationale for nutrition, informed by recent trends and case studies from both high-income and emerging markets.
Outcome
The project resulted in the creation of engagement materials and the facilitation of a successful Building Bridges Action Days session (see event page), involving over 60 participants from a diverse group of stakeholders. It has also attracted attention from a globally recognized media platform, resulting in a dedicated article summarizing the key takeaways from the event (available here).
